Job Seeker FAQ
How does your process work for finding me a job?
Once you apply online and send us a resume, a recruiter will be assigned to you and contact you within 24 hours (business days). The recruiter will assess your skills and match them to our available job openings. You can view our job postings on our website. Many of our initial interviews are conducted via phone; however, you may be asked to visit our office for an in-person interview. We hope to find you a position ASAP, but if one is not available immediately, your recruiter will contact you when a possible position is found. We encourage you to stay in touch with your recruiter.
What kind of pre-employment requirements do you have?
Once a potential job opening has been found and an interview requested, we will ask you to send us an application and complete/sign a criminal background consent form. At this time, we will conduct a background check. Drug screening will be administered at the time of a job offer. We also require three employment references and will ask for these at this time.
Is there a charge to me?
There is no charge to you; our customers pay Selectek for our services.
What kind of benefits do you offer?
For those who qualify, we offer holiday pay and longevity pay, details of which will be described when hired. We also offer direct deposit and enrollment into a 401(k) plan after one year.
Where can I get a Selectek timesheet?
For those employees using our standard time sheet, you may access the time sheet via the employee portal using your username and password or if needed, by contacting your recruiter directly.
When do I get paid and how do I receive it?
You are paid every week on Friday. Note: there is a one-week delay with the first check in order to process you into payroll. We encourage direct deposit; however, you may have your check mailed, or you can pick it up at our office.
How do a get a copy of my pay stub and my W-2 at the end of the year?
You can access the Paychex payroll system using your username and password to view your pay stubs and W-2. Once the W-2 is accessible, we will alert all employees.
What do I do if I have to miss work?
Contact your recruiter and also your immediate supervisor and let them know about your situation.
What do I do if I am having problems at my job or with my supervisor?
Contact your recruiter to discuss the circumstances so we can advise and help resolve the situation.
What do I do if I have decided to leave the job?
Contact your recruiter to discuss the details. This way we can determine the best course of action with the customer. If you are not interested in a position, you are free to decline. We will continue to offer positions to you based on your skills and preferences.
What if I am on assignment and decide to leave the job?
Contact your recruiter to discuss the details. This way we can determine the best course of action with the customer. If you decide to leave, we ask you give us a full two-weeks’ notice.
